All the kids wrote about their impressions of Spring. Carly managed to sneak a bit of fiction in her Spring assignment.
Here’s what her story said:
Can you tell what part of this might not be exactly the truth?

While reading to Carly last month, I asked her to point out the Q’s on the page. She said there weren’t any. When I showed her a Q and asked what letter she thought it was, she said it was an O with a toothbrush in it’s mouth!

Last night Carly said she knows her Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Ciccone’s real name.
“It’s Karen. – That’s her name in real life.”
Jan 15, 2008 On the way to school Carly asked me “Do you know what happens when you don’t go to school for a long time and you are not sick? The Dog catcher catches you and puts you in his truck.”
Note: I asked her where she got that idea. It turns out that something similar happened in the book “Ramona the Pest”. Needless to say we had to read that book together. It’s a really funny story from a 5 year olds perspective.

Here’s a letter I just got from Carly’s teacher after I requested homework sent home:
You and your husband are doing a great job! I will make sure Carly gets the homework packet in her Friday Folder. Keep up the great work with Carly!

P.S. So was it an April fools joke about getting a puppy named Buddy?
